Erbium Laser

Erbium laser offers patients excellent results without
side effects often associated with other laser resurfacing techniques. Benefits
of the laser include less trauma to the skin, less risk of scarring, less
pain, and faster recovery times - at least 50-60% faster than other methods.
The erbium laser is ideal for patients wanting a "weekend rejuvenation"
equivalent to a light peel with fast healing, minimal down time and done
with the precision of today's most advanced laser system. Deeper wrinkles
and scars also respond well to erbium laser. The erbium can also be used
to treat delicate neck, hands and chest, and well suited for the treatment
of patients with darker skin pigment types. Isolated facial regions may
also be treated, rather than resurfacing the entire face. Those treated
on a Wednesday may be back to work Monday, with a rapid return to outdoor
activities. Many erbium procedures can be done with a topical cream or local
anesthetic.
CO2 Laser for Deep Laser Skin Resurfacing
The CO2 laser is the most effective skin resurfacing laser
for deep lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and some surgical scars.
The laser works by removing the uppermost layer of the
skin around the wrinkles or scar. As new skin regenerates, the area appears
smoother. Depending on the depth and type of wrinkle or scar more than one
treatment is rarely required.

can use both the CO2 and erbium lasers in combination,
allowing him to better fine tune each procedure to the patients' specific
needs.
